The Longleaf is a regional community publication that accepts content from anyone in northwest Florida.

We want to empower writers, photographers, artists, and citizen journalists across the Florida Panhandle by giving them a professional publication to share their work.

We are looking for long-form reads that explore local topics, issues, people, businesses, and more. In a world where we’re constantly crushed by news, we want to be anything but.

Tight editorial guidelines, a ban on AI-generated content, and building strong relationships with local writers will ensure each edition is packed with high-value, unique, and human-generated material.

We seek to cover all the underserved communities between 30A and Carrabelle. We will accept writing either based on or from Walton, Washington, Holmes, Jackson, Bay, Calhoun, Gulf, Liberty, Franklin, and Gadsden counties. This coverage area includes 434,902 people.
